Short Bio

Jim Martin is the Hydraskills Managing Director and has been working in the Oil and Gas Industry for the last 44 years.

After working with a major hose and fittings company in both Aberdeen and Inverness for 27 years, he became self-employed and contracted his skills to two companies in Aberdeen, working both on and offshore and further expanding his hands-on experience while gaining valuable teaching experience.

He has gained and developed the skills, knowledge and experience required to competently train, assess and verify in the following technical areas.

  • British Fluid Power Association Approved Instructor
  • City & Guilds 2340 Fluid power Competences
  • C.I.T.B. Qualified Instructor
  • Hydrostatic pressure testing.
  • Hose Integrity, Management & Inspection.
  • Hydraulic hose manufacture (Parker Hanifinn, Manuli, Alfagomma trained Instructor)
  • Bulk Hose Assembly (IVG)
  • Small bore tubing systems (Swagelok, Hoke Gyrolok, Parker A-lok trained instructor)
  • Tube line fabrication
  • Coned & threaded styled connections (HIP, Butec, IPT, Autoclave trained instructor)
  • C.I.T.B. Qualified Instructor
  • C.I.T.B. SBT01 Install & assemble small bore twin ferrule fittings) (E.C.I.T.B. SBT02 Disassemble and reinstall small bore assemblies) (E.C.I.T.B. SBT03 Install and assemble Small Bore Tubing Assemblies Coned and Threaded)
